Introduction

The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is EU legislation that is designed to strengthen and unify data protection laws for all individuals within the European Union. The regulation will become effective and enforceable on the 25th May 2018.

Witness.ly GDPR compliance

Witness.ly is fully compliant with GDPR. We have appointed Data Protection Officer, performed the necessary changes to our product based on GDPR requirements, and set up internal processes and procedures required by GDPR.

What Witness.ly Customers need to do

  • Your Terms of Service or Privacy Policy should properly communicate to your users how you are using Witness.ly on your website or app. GDPR can penalize you heavily if you’ve not done this clearly.

  • If your company or your visitors are in the European Union you’ll likely want to sign a Data Processing Agreement with Witness.ly. You can review our Data Processing Agreement.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) is a regulation by which the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission intend to strengthen and unify data protection for all individuals within the European Union (EU).

GDPR is considered to be the most significant piece of European data protection legislation to be introduced in the European Union (EU) in 20 years and will replace the the 1995 Data Protection Directive.
